Beamer's Breakfast Blend
higlights the fair-trade, shade-grown, organic coffees of Central
America. Fair-trade coffee has become an importnat consumer
movement among American coffee drinkers. Central America coffee
growers, especially the farmers of El Salvador, Guatemala, Columbia,
and Peru, have been attacked by the right-wing gueriilas allied with
the wealthy elites who control most of the businesses in these
regions. Child labor is commonplace and pesticides such as DDT
(banned in the U.S. in 1972) are routinely used to treat crops.
They need YOUR help! Continued success for the fair-trade/organic

growers depends on motivating consumers to align their money with their
