Gayoland
is known for its cooperative farming methods and high standards for
organic
coffee farming. This organic and cooperatively produced coffee is grown
by the
farmers in the Gayo Mountains of Sumatra.
Known as the Gayo Organic Farmers Association, this co-op grows 100%
organic
beans. With the funds from their coffee sales, these co-op growers
started a
project to bring safe drinking water to more than 1,500 people. The
cooperative
has also saved funds to help farmers with the reconstruction of their
war-torn
homes and to aid in the construction of new schools. This is the only
GREENER
GROUNDZ coffee not grown in Latin American but we feel it has its place
at the
very top in taste, quality, and social justice!
