Sadie’s Sassy Decaf is a water processed, decaffeinated coffee from Nicaragua.  Like Sadie, this coffee has a rich, sassy temperament but not overly bold!

Sadie’s Sassy Decaf has NOT been chemically decaffeinated.  Instead, the caffeine is extract using C02. This method uses two natural elements; pure water and carbon.  When the coffee absorbs the water, the grains expand, which open the pores, and the caffeine molecules become mobile. At this point, carbon dioxide is added and “sparkling water” is created!  The carbon dioxide acts like a magnet and attracts all the caffeine molecules that became movable.  After the caffeine is captured by the carbon dioxide, it is removed without disturbing the carbohydrates and proteins of the coffee beans – the ones that give it that great taste and sassy aroma while roasting! The carbon dioxide is then recycled and the caffeine is sold for other commercial uses. A 100% natural way to decaffeinate!
